We’re incredibly proud of our frontline workers, that’s why we’re empowering our associates with a $3 million investment that enables them to support their communities during this time. Over the coming days and weeks, at our locations across the country, our associates and their teams will thank Canadians who are supporting all essential work, through small acts of kindness.

From fuel discounts, to meals, showers, or a small token of appreciation for our customers, these gestures are our way to say Thank You to all Canadians who are doing their part. Whether you are a health care worker on the frontline, a truck driver ensuring needed products are delivered, a transit worker getting others where they need to go, or a grocery, pharmacy, or food delivery service employee, you are essential, and we celebrate your contribution.

As the needs of Canadians continue to evolve through COVID-19, Petro-Canada associates will also work with local organizations to support their neighbourhoods across Canada. Support will take various forms depending on the needs of each community, such as essential items to hospitals, provisions to shelters and assistance to nursing homes.

Recognizing our healthcare workers.
After Mathi learned one of his coworkers had a sister who works at the local hospital, he was inspired to help however he could. So Mathi rallied his team to make lunches for the hospital staff along with heartfelt notes letting them know how much they’re appreciated for their hard work during these hard times.
Thanking nurses for their sacrifices.
Nurses have been working tirelessly to make sure Canadians are cared for. To champion everything they’ve done for us, 13 of our Associates worked together to donate over $9000 in Petro-Canada gift cards, 350 Fuel Savings Cards, and hundreds of gift baskets to nurses at 10 healthcare centres in Edmonton and Grande Prairie.
Helping his neighbours.
Our Associate Radek wanted to do something to help his local homeless community. So he worked with his manager Victoria to pack meals for them with sandwiches, fruit cups, drinks, and chocolate. It started with a dozen bags, and each day it continues to grow.

Knowing how difficult these times have made it to keep food on the table, Sukhwinder Singh rallied his team together to donate $15,000 worth of food to the North York Harvest Food Bank. Acts of kindness like these inspire us all to do what we can to keep our communities healthy and moving forward.
Inspiring a chain of paying it forward.
Our Associate Kevin wanted to surprise a truck driver with a small act of kindness, so he paid for his lunch. Inspired, that truck driver paid for the person standing behind him — which in turn led to that person paying for the next person in line. Just goes to show that a little bit of good can go a long way.
